On the Road Again!
This takes you to our "find u" site. What is this? We have a GPS unit in our RV and it works along with amateur radio and APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System) to report our postion to the internet. So you can see on this site just exactly where we are at the last time we got our signal out.
We are at Richmond right now at our RV dealership having them install our Sirius satellite radio and a new awning. There is an internet hookup in the "clubhouse" here and so that's pretty cool. We're staying at the facility's campground (free hookups) till probably Monday.
We have come to like this little town and have big plans for a delicious dinner tonight. I'm going to take more pics on this trip and keep up with posting them in my blog when I can get an internet hookup.
Thursday night was our actual official beginning of the vacation. We packed everything except the computers and were ready to spend the night out there Thursday night! Eddie (cat) and Maddy (dog) joined us out there, much to Eddie's displeasure, but they seemed to adjust right away.
Sleeping was another story. While Maddy went right to sleep, Eddie had no such plans. He was up mewing all night long. At about 3, I got up and put food in his bowl, but that quieted him for only the time that it took him to eat it.
We dragged ourselves out of bed at about 7. (Eddie was finally asleep! LOL!) We ate and then went to Cardinal Fitness for our workout.
Leaving was not a problem, and we got out of town by 10:30. I always wonder, seeing the Bass in the driveway, if it will be possible to get it out of there without hitting anything. Well, as usual, no problem getting it out. We hooked up the car in front of Osco as usual and headed the 120 miles to Richmond. Traffic was easy.
After we got here we just chilled for the most part. They took us in right away, so any ins and outs meant stepping over the men. We actually napped in the afternoon.
Eventually we came to consciousness and realized that the guys were done with the Bass, so we had them pull it out of the bay and we drove back over to the dealership's campground and got hooked up.
I haven't mentioned yet that summer has finally arrived! It has been HOT for the last few days!
We headed out in the car to shop for those few things that we either forgot or just needed and then went for supper. We chose to eat at Lee's Famous Fried Chicken. Smokefree dining and delicious food!

Tired of tests
I'm VERY tired of needles and machines. Yesterday I had the stress echo and that was … stressful! ;) They hooked me up and put me on the treadmill. It started slowly, of course. Then they sped it up and raised the front so that I was walking uphill. Then they raised it and sped it up more ... and more! By the time I was done, my heartrate was 178 and I told them that I couldn't go faster without running. I was walking VERY fast and practically straight up, though, so I did well.
They had me quickly get onto the table and they ran the machine over me. In one minute, I was down to 120 bpm and in 2 minutes, I was down to 90. Healthy heart!
The cardiologist read it ydy afternoon and all is perfect.
The carotid ultrasound made me realize what it must feel like to be strangled. I didn’t like that at all. Of course it is all normal. I’m probably the most worked-up perfectly healthy person on earth.
They called this am and want me to go in for more blood work in 2 months, because of the Zocor. And while I’m there they are going to get some more tests too.
We're leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow for our month in the northeast. We're starting in Michigan, visiting son Dave, Kelly, and their very fun family, and then heading east from there.
I announced Challenge results just now.
And I'm wrapping up my Photoshop classes over these few days. This morning I made the Certificates and I'll send them out this afternoon to the students who've earned them.
