Money coincidences

We sold our other car today! We had 3 cars and we now have just one -- the Mojave Mist Honda CRV. We have, in the past week, sold both the Mustang and the silver CRV. This was part of our plan for making ourselves lighter of possessions in preparation for our life on the road.

It's a coincidence that it will cost just a tiny bit less for our new roofs on the house and garage than we got for both of the cars. We're getting a second estimate on the roof jobs tomorrow. Then we'll get that done, too, before our summer journey.

Here's another funny coincidence. Our Marsh store had a deal where, if you buy a certain amount of groceries, you get a coupon for $7.50 off gas at Village Pantry. Well.. LOL .. we had to search all over town till we found a VP that actually sells gas; there is just one which sells gas, at Winslow and Henderson. But we did find it. They give the discount by handing you $7.50 in cash after you pay with your credit card, which we thought was pretty cool.

So then we went to DQ for supper. Our bill? LOL.. $7.49. (After dinner we got ice cream, which didn't count in that total! Hey.. we're not cheapskates!)

The trash truck job went well. The guy loved what I've done so far, and I'll finish up in the morning. :)

Work Journal

Today I did some updates for my Photoshop Resource Links, adding Curvemeister.com and Alltut.com.

I'm working on a birthday invitation for a 5 year old. Dad wants the child to appear to be loading trash onto a trash truck. He's supplying clip art and photos. It's very cute what I've done.

Students are on fire in 2 of my 4 classes. The other 2... the students are up to their elbows I think.

I went walking up the hill today -- 20 minutes. We'll be hitting the gym for our "real" workout when Michael's home from work.

Our Race Day Party was great! Even WE had fun! The food was special, and the race exciting, but the best part was that we had a very cool mix of guests. Oh, and Michael's grilling went superbly, too. We got our beef filet this year from a new place called the Butcher's Block. We told them we wanted the best, and they gave us the best! The chicken from there was extra good too.

Yesterday I spent the whole day just like today.. trying to get caught up with the email and student postings. That's a good kind of busy. I love my classes this session, and, with Joanne and John working with me, it's sheer fun!

Good news from Dave! The agent he contacted loves his book, but.. how could he not? It's fantastic!! The agent was extremely complimentary, telling Dave that it is very rare for someone to put out a first novel when they're his age and have it be any good, but that Dave breaks that rule! I just can't wait till it's on the shelves and I can buy it for people who like to read great things.

Gym membership is going well. We still have not missed a day! Michael is doing recumbent and upright bike and also doing some arm stuff. I'm working on the elliptical mainly, but I also enjoy the treadmill and the recumbent bike. Maddy wishes that it would cool down some so that she could go walking with me!

Oh! and the AC is now fixed. It went OUT for our party (how convenient) but it was covered under warranty and is now kicking the proverbial butt again.
