Random Banter

Work, work, working on my Lesson 3! It's about dealing with color in photos, so ... excitement! (It is all exciting to me, though!) The students are on break this week, and this gives me a little chance to breathe, myself.

My flowers are so pretty. I got 3 hanging baskets of white petunias and they're just resplendent! I also got a little pot garden with a tomato plant and several herb plants: oregano, parsley, sage, rosemary, and dill. The tomato plant is full of blooms! I'm not much of a gardner, as I've proven over and over, but I do like having plants in pots. :)

I did 30 mins on the treadmill this morning, followed by 10 on the elliptical. On the treadmill, I have a tough time getting my heartrate into the training zone. I was on "level 9" of "hills" and still it wouldn't get over 130. I've found that if I think about things that worry me it goes up as I watch it. LOL!

Then I did weight machines for 10. As of ydy I increased my weights from 10 lbs to 20 or 25 and so now I feel like I'm doing something. :)

Pics of our grandkids :P

YAY! I finished Lesson 2 for my Fix Your Photos in Photoshop class. This class will be beginning on 29 August as part of my Fall Session. I'm very excited about it!

(For anyone who's reading and doesn't know this, Annette's my sister and she had added a comment on my last posting.)

Annette, you wanted to know how I came up with those backward car names in my last posting? Erm... workings of an idle mind? I don't know. Sometimes I'll look at a word and it will look like it SHOULD spell something backwards. Like "Evian" .. the spring water? Look at what it spells backwards. Of course.. you have to remember that I'm the one who could find a 4-leaf clover from across the street, too. (I can still do that, by the way.)

I very rarely talk in my blog about future plans, but YES, we will be coming to the birthday party for li'l Brayden, you betcha! Maybe I'll come up with some neat photos, too. I was looking through my stuff and found some cute ones from Spencer's party and from Nathan's too. You do have cute grandkids, Annette! Maybe someday we'll be in town for one of our grandkids' parties.
These pics are from our April trip to the zoo with Kelly and our grandkids. They are all in the pic of Kelly and me. Josie (2) is being carried, Wren (7) is in the green pants, and Liam (10) is the chap in the red hat. I put a closeup of the 2 big kids in here too. :)

Backwards

It occurs to me that sometimes I spend too much time thinking.

A Toyota backwards is ... a toyota.
Subaru backwards is.... U R A bus!

Ok.. time for me to do some work!

Zoobilation pic and weekend news

Hey there!
Zoobilation was GREAT! Michael and I got the VIP tickets for an extra donation and this is very worth it for us. Why? Well, they let VIP's in at 5, while the "riffraff" doesn't get to come till 7. So we have the place in a pleasantly uncrowded state and get to go around and graze with no lines. We also have access to the VIP Lounge (a cool place to sit and relax).

Here's a pic we shot before the event.. and yes, I was the photographer! :)

Sunlaker and Nettie, Thank you for your comments! :) I love getting comments on my blog. Nettie, I've actually lost 3 full pounds! I think that we both know how easy it is to find these again. And the rain didn't ever fall on Zoobilation night! It was actually sunny and lovely till it set in a beautiful blaze of red and orange.

After months of nagging him, Grafikhaus, it turns out, just needed to a little instruction in how to take those pages off his site. Once I told him how to do it, poof! They were off of there. I can just never stop being a teacher. And I have to remember that there are times that sugar works better than vinegar. ;)

Yesterday, Suzanne and I went to the 2nd half of the Parade of Homes, and had a fine time. I'm getting ideas for ways to decorate this house. While it looked like rain all day, it held off for us!

Then last evening, we camped out in front of the TV and watched Knight School, ESPN's mini-series reality show about Bobby Knight's choosing a walk-on from a field of hopefuls. Our friend Dave had recorded this for us while we were in Tucson and then sent us the tape. Thank you Dave! We loved the show and stayed up till 1am watching, because it was so exciting! :)

Dreary cool day to day, rain off and on, and not a glimpse of sun. Michael's knee is still bothering him enough that we can't do anything on foot. We did work out at Cardinal Fitness. I did the treadmill and Michael did the recumbent bike. Then we both did weight machines. I like that part of the workout the best. Dinner tonight was at Smokey Bones. I had the mahi mahi sandwich and Michael polished off half a rack of ribs.
