Thanksgiving in Denver

Hi there, everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving!
We flew to Denver (from Tucson) on Monday. Our flight went smoothly, our luggage was right there when we arrived, and they had a cute little Chevy rental compact waiting for us.

We're staying at the Hampton Inn on Ulster. Monday we just went walking around the area here, went to the grocery for bottled water and some snacks, supped at the neighboring Panera, and relaxed in our room.

Tuesday we went shopping again -- this time for pie supplies! This day we went over to Becca & Joel's where I baked two pies -- pumpkin and upside-down apple, in preparation for Thanksgiving. All went smoothly, as Becca keeps a very organized, uncluttered, well-stocked, and spotless kitchen.

Becca and Joel came home from work and we headed with them over to Michelle's, where we met with many more family members and feasted on delicious pot roast, carrots, and noodles with gravy.

Yesterday, we picked Becky up from Becca & Joel's and we went to the Park Square Mall for some power-shopping! We lunched at the Cheesecake Factory, where we got dismally slow service. Becky didn't get her sandwich at all till we were all finished eating. They ended up bringing her ice cream, but we all left there thinking that, while the food was good, it was the worst service ever.

Supper last night was at Becca & Joel's, where they fed us two different chili's, pulled smoked pork, salad, cake and apple pie. Everything was delicious and a good time was had by all!

So here we are on Thanksgiving. It's the first time that I've had a chance to get the computer out since we've been here.

Things to be thankful for? I have so many. I'm grateful for Michael, for his sweetness and generosity, and for all of the magical years we've enjoyed together. I'm grateful that he continues to feel good, and that we are still having fun.

I'm grateful for my family, their unconditional love, and for a year of good health, good visits, and many smiles. :)
I'm grateful for Michael's family, for how they count me as a member of the family, and for all the laughs we share.
I'm grateful for all of our wonderful friends and for the love and support we've gotten through this tough time.
I'm grateful for my online family -- for all my Community members who call myJanee.com home, for my Photoshop students, for my fellow myJanee Photoshop teachers, Joanne and John. And I'm grateful for the technology that keeps us together.
I'm grateful for my own good health, and the fact that I ultimately did get signed up for health insurance!
And I'm grateful for our pets, who keep loving us no matter what, who wake us up daily, who kiss our tears away, and who clean up the crumbs we drop onto the floor.
