Prescott

It's SPRING! Here's a flowering tree I shot in Prescott a couple of days ago:

Jack and I went up to Prescott, AZ, on Monday as part of the Hiking Club end-of-season trip, and we just got home late yesterday. We stayed at the Prescott Inn & Conference Center, and it was a very good choice. The group enjoyed some hiking, of course, and evenings around the bar, outside on the patio, or sitting in the lobby at tables playing games. We also went into town, enjoying shopping or dining out.

I went on the hike on Tuesday, going with the group up the very steep trail at Seven-Mile Gulch. While the hike was fun, it was painful for me on the way down the hill. My left ankle, the one that I had sprained just 8 days earlier, began bothering me and then my right knee, too.

That knee has given me trouble since I was about 25, but mostly just when I'm hiking down a steep hill. I "baby it," relying heavily on my poles, and haven't had any problems with it at all this season.. till Tuesday. I think that it might have been partly because I've been favoring my left leg. Oh well. Here are some photos from our Tuesday hike:

So Wednesday, when the rest of the gang went off on another hike, I stayed back at the hotel and did puzzles. When Jack returned, we went off to explore downtown. It was a fun trip! Here are some photos from downtown. Jack took my photo at the Palace, where we enjoyed a Palace Red beer and a delicious dinner.

As we drove up north, Jack drove past Picacho Peak, and I shot some photos from the car window. Here's the best one:

Thursday, on our way back southeast to Tucson, we stopped off in Phoenix to see the Botanical Garden and the Chihuly glass exhibit there. I'll have photos of that for you tomorrow!
