My day was good! I got up early (for me) and readied myself for the hiking trip. We met at the Fiesta Room and arranged rides. This was a special trip -- our annual trek to Tubac.

Jack drove me, Sally, and Herb to Tubac. There we met the other 40 or so hikers, and we strolled to Wisdom's down in Tumacacori, about 3.6 miles. The walk was pleasant and the conversation flowed smoothly.

I got a quesadilla and tortilla soup for lunch at Wisdom's -- delish! Jack reappeared with his car, and we all rode back to Tubac, where we had an hour of shopping.

I read someplace that a writer should write as if everyone s/he knows is already dead. We are supposed to just cut loose, without regard to others' feelings or our own reputation or relationships. Zow. I sometimes wish I could do that. There are some things that I could say.

  1. hmmm.....not very wise to write as if everyone is dead, (or no one you write about is reading) unless you do not mind having to find all new friends!;(

A bit of discretion and vagueness certainly can have nearly the same effect without hurting feelings...

You're doing great Janee, keep it up!

  2. Sis: I love your blog and your pictures, but I don't always get a chance to respond...it is like your email, it isn't that we don't read it or care, it is that we just have lots to do, too. :)

You better not just write about people as if they were dead...I don't really want to know what you think of me, so please keep that under your belt until I am not around to read it.

So, who is the guy on MySpace? Which one? I want a quick peek. I think you said "Greg" but you have a couple of potential "Gregs" there.

I gotta get busy at work or I will not have a job. ;)

    Love you! Sis.

  3. Janee,

Beautiful photos of scenery and great photos of fellow hikers too. AZ is such a wonderful place for photos...I've always loved the desert.

On that dead thing...was always told to never speak ill of the dead so am thinking that is not what was meant...more about being honest about yourself...my take anyway.

  5. Well...the pics are very nice, especially some of the saguaros and the rock faces of cliffs. Trouble is, my family subscribed to Arizona Highways for years. Now that was desert photography!

Everyone wishes you would start checking in over at Dorothy's...it appears to be booming.

I miss you so much, I could scream. I pray that you won't abandon forever your gift:

YOUR EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY TO TEACH OR PRESENT AN IDEA

  8. Janee, you can go ahead and write about me like I'm dead. Maybe I'll be more interesting that way. Haa. Make up some juicy stuff, please.

Your desert pictures are great. Looks like all those cacti are giving the world the California hidee. That won't make sense if you never saw the Beverly Hillbillies movie.

  11. Janee, I do so enjoy your daily posts. I try to catch up with you every night before I go to bed, and I miss it when you don't post.

I think you are very brave in many things that you do. I am not so sure I could do all the things you are able to do...not to say that things are easy for you! Just that I admire your spunk!

    Have a great day!

  12. Hi Janee...just catching up with your blog again. Really love the hiking pictures. No wonder you can't get started with PS as your life is very busy now (as it should be) Don't feel guilty about not doing your PS site. We at MyJanee's are now happy at Dorothy's PS. And I know you will drop in ever so often and give us your buzz. There are classes going on all over the net (although not as good as yours) so we can help each other out for our problems. Keep happy and we'll be seeing you on the network....Norma
